Man who lost leg after getting hit by bus to get $15 million

An elderly man who had his leg amputated after being hit last year by a Southland Transit Inc. bus reached a settlement just before a jury a Los Angeles County awarded $17 million in damages.

An elderly man who had his leg amputated after being hit last year by a Southland Transit Inc. bus would have been awarded more than $17 million in damages in a verdict delivered by a Los Angeles County Superior Court jury Monday. However, just before the jury reached the verdict, the parties involved struck an agreement that capped damages at $15 million.
