Palmdale likely to appeal injunction on November election

A judge ruled that the city cannot hold a November election as planned since its "at-large" voting system violates the 2001 California Voting Rights Act.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mark V. Mooney ruled Monday that the city of Palmdale cannot hold a November election as planned since its "at-large" voting system violates the 2001 California Voting Rights Act.


The at-large method allows voters of an entire jurisdiction rather than individual districts to select its city council members.
