Continuing a trend of promoting officers from within, the judicial branch has picked Deborah Brown, a managing attorney with branch's Administrative Office of the Courts, to serve as the branch's new chief counsel beginning Oct. 1.
Brown replaces outgoing chief counsel Mary Roberts, who announced her plans to retire in June.
