US legal jobs continue upward swing in August

In a summer month notorious for its stagnant job growth and slow activity, August saw the second highest jump in U.S. legal sector jobs this year, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released Friday.

In a summer month notorious for its stagnant job growth and slow activity, August saw the second highest jump in U.S. legal sector jobs this year, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released Friday.


The number of legal sector jobs rose by 2,700, from 1,126,000 in July to 1,128,700 in August. The increase falls only barely behind July's uptick of 2,800 jobs, according to seasonally...
