Last year, Matteo-Boehm won an appeal in a libel lawsuit for Gawker Media stemming from a lengthy post published in 2011 on Gizmodo.com, a website owned by Gawker Media.
The trial court granted her motion to strike under California's anti-SLAPP statute, a decision that was affirmed last year. Redmond v. Gawker Media, A132785 (Cal. App. 1st Dist. 2012).
