Eastern District gets new federal defender

Heather E. Williams, a veteran first assistant federal public defender from Arizona, is set to take over the top federal defender's post in Sacramento, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals announced Friday.

A veteran first assistant federal public defender from Arizona is set to take over the top federal defender's post in Sacramento, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals announced Friday.


Heather E. Williams, 56, will assume the Eastern District job May 6 on a provisional basis pending completion of an updated background check, the circuit said.
