SANTA ANA - If only CalTrans had agreed to another traffic signal on Coast Highway, the weird and expensive litigation might have been avoided.

As it is, when appellate justices later this year ponder the case by a major drug store chain against the developer of very high-end coastal shopping center, they'll find a lawsuit tossed out after six weeks of trial, a whopping $945,000 award to the defens...
