Browne Wins Senate Confirmation

The Senate confirmed California lawyer Sharon L. Browne to the board of directors of the Legal Services Corporation.

WASHINGTON - The Senate confirmed California lawyer Sharon L. Browne to the board of directors of the Legal Services Corporation. Browne joins the board over the objections of the American Bar Association and dozens of legal and civil rights groups that argued she was unfit for the position due to her work with the conservative Pacific Legal Foundation attempting to defund legal aid groups.
