Court Frowns on Request for Another $100M From Avant

SAN JOSE - After getting hit with a $182 million criminal restitution award last week, the Avant Corp. may catch a break. During a hearing Monday, Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Conrad Rushing issued a tentative ruling denying the request of Cadence Design Systems for another $100 million in interest and other payments from Avant.
