Avant Ordered to Pay $182M Restitution

SAN JOSE - In a ruling hailed by prosecutors as a sweeping victory, a Santa Clara County judge ordered Avant Corp. on Thursday to pay more than $182 million in restitution to its corporate victim for using stolen trade secrets in competing software products.
