^^Bankruptcy Law^^ Automatic Update New Inflation Adjustments Affect Consumers and Creditors By Wesley H. Avery Section 104(b) of the Bankruptcy Code provides for automatic adjustments for inflation every three years to some of its provisions. The new figures recently announced apply to bankruptcy cases filed on or after April 1 and will have a very real impact on consumers contemplating bankruptcy and their creditors.
