While I am not a fan of mandatory minimum sentences, I do think the Daily Journal should make sure opinion pieces such as this one deliver on what they promise. The Michael and Ian Pancer assert that "tough on crime" safety measures are "little more than poorly thought through efforts to pad the pockets of special interests," yet the article never identifies those special interests or explains how these sentencing requiremen...
