State attorney general emphasizes her career highlights in award speech

Though the words "Senate 2016" were never mentioned during the Johnnie L. Cochran Jr Public Service Award gala at Loyola Law School on Friday, honoree Kamala Harris made her stances known on various issues.

LOS ANGELES - A collective chuckle rumbled through the roomful of attorneys and judges gathered at Loyola Law School on Friday when Dale Cochran, widow of the late criminal defense lawyer Johnnie L. Cochran Jr., offered state Attorney General Kamala Harris "best wishes for her career in the months ahead" as she presented her with a public service award.
