Johnson & Johnson will pay Tehachapi woman $5.7 million for defective mesh

The Bakersfield jury announced the verdict Thursday against the pharmaceutical company tangled in over 36,000 other pelvic mesh lawsuits.

A Bakersfield jury awarded $5.7 million Thursday to a woman for enduring possibly lifelong pain due to an allegedly defective transvaginal mesh implant.


Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. and its subsidiary Ethicon US LLC will pay Coleen Perry of Tehachapi $5 million in punitive damages and $700,000 in compensatory damages.
