Jury Urges Death for Killer of Girl
SANTA ANA - Alejandro Avila should be executed for kidnapping and killing 5-year-old Samantha Runnion, jurors decided Monday. The eight-man, four-woman panel, which convicted Avila of kidnapping, sexual assault and murder April 28, reached a unanimous decision on the penalty after deliberating for about seven hours over two days.
