Shuttle Program Provides Hope, Learning, Inspiration

Warshaw - I read, with great frustration, Ted Van Dyk's views on why the Space Shuttle Program should be scuttled in "U.S. Finally Should Scuttle Wasteful Shuttle Program." (Forum, Feb. 24). Van Dyk's conclusion to end the program is troubling and was based on faulty assumptions and mischaracterizations of fact. Considered objectively, the facts show that the shuttle program is a valuable and inspiring project that has benefited mankind and should continue.
