Chip Developer Buys Assets of Bankrupt Firm

Chip manufacturer Broadcom Corp. of Irvine has acquired some of the assets of bankrupt company Gadzoox Networks Inc. Broadcom paid $5.8 million in cash to acquire both intellectual property and physical assets. Gadzoox, a provider of networking infrastructure, filed for bankruptcy relief in August in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in San Jose.
