Mining Company Completes Deal

Canadian mining company Placer Dome Inc. has completed a $200 million refinancing deal. Placer Dome mines gold, copper and other metals. The company took advantage of historically low interest rates as well as the increased interest in gold producers in light of the crisis in Iraq, notes San Francisco attorney Eric Haueter, who advised the lead underwriters Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan Securities.
