Beverly Hills Bar Launches Litigation Section Awards

Members of the Beverly Hills Bar Association gathered at the Montage hotel Wednesday night to pay tribute to former California Chief Justice Ronald George and Roman Silberfeld, the managing partner of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi LLP's Century City office. The association awarded George with its inaugural award for judicial excellence, presented by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and Eric George, the former judge?s son and partner with Browne Woods George LLP. The Beverly Hills Bar also honored Silberfeld with its first excellence in advocacy award for a $319 million jury verdict the lawyer won in a trial last June involving profits from the game show "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." The print version of this article incorrectly identified Marc Staenberg as working at Tisdale and Nicholson, LLP. Staenberg left the firm in 2004 when he became the Executive Director of the Association. The Daily Journal regrets the error.
