Southland Family Law Judges Honored
The Southern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers honored Los Angeles Superior Judge Scott M. Gordon, Orange County Superior Court judge James L. Waltz, and Joan K. Irion, justice at the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division One, for their work in divorce and family law. Scott is presiding over the divorce case of Los Angeles Dodgers owners Frank and Jamie McCourt. All three were presented with the Family Law Judicial Officers of the Year award at a black tie dinner Jan. 15 at Casa Del Mar Hotel in Santa Monica. The dinner was the capstone of the Academy's 18th Annual Trial Advocacy Institute, a three-day symposium designed for family law specialists.
