Panel Refuses to Extend Statute Of Limitations in Building Case
LOS ANGELES - Chalk up a major victory for home builders in construction-defect litigation. In a harsh blow to homeowners who discover latent defects in their residences, a state appellate court has for the first time ruled that the 10-year statute of limitations for filing lawsuits against construction companies cannot be extended to include time the builder spent in bankruptcy.
