Trade-Secrets Plea

SAN FRANCISCO - The former information technology director at a Silicon Valley company pleaded guilty Monday to one count of stealing trade secrets that he tried to sell to optical networking firm JDS Uniphase.

        U.S. District Judge Ronald Whyte is scheduled to sentence Brent Alan Woodard, 34, in December. Woodard faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, but he could get less under the federal sentencing guidel...
