Akin Gump's Role With Chinese Oil Firm Garners Scrutiny
LOS ANGELES - When Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld signed on to represent China National Offshore Oil Co. in its bid for Unocal, the firm's partners "knew it would be politically charged," said Bruce McLean, chairman of the firm's Washington, D.C., office.
