Judge Sentences Avila to Death Row

SANTA ANA - The man convicted of killing 5-year-old Samantha Runnion is headed for death row. Alejandro Avila showed no remorse for kidnapping, sexually assaulting and murdering the bubbly Stanton girl three years ago despite a plea for an apology by the child's mother.
