UnitedHealth Pays $8.1 Billion For PacifiCare Health Systems
LOS ANGELES - UnitedHealth Group, the nation's second-largest health insurer, has agreed to pay $8.1 billion for rival PacifiCare Health Systems in an effort to tap into the Medicare market and create a firm foothold in the western United States.
