Zions Agrees to Pay $1.7 Billion for Texas Bank

LOS ANGELES - Zions Bancorp, which operates in eight Western states, has agreed to purchase Amergy Bancorp, the third-largest independent commercial bank in Texas, for $1.7 billion in cash and stock.
