Pratitioner: Entertainment Law In the music business, the hits keep coming. And recently, so do the lawsuits. But these are not the familiar artist-vs.-artist or artist-vs.-record company standards, such as "your song sounds like my song" or "you cheated me out of royalties." Rather, the new rash of lawsuits pits the record companies against new technologies - including Internet start-ups like MP3 and Napster - and even against the broadcast industry, in a series of high-stakes battles that collectively may determine who will control the distribution of music in this new millennium.
