Lifers Question Davis Parole Policy

Gov. Gray Davis has decreed that prisoners sentenced to indeterminate sentences (so-called "lifers") will not be granted parole during his term in office. This decision is contrary to established law and constitutional mandates. He is not alone in this bizarre approach to justice. New York Gov. George Pataki has adopted a similar policy.
