Corporate counsel group holds diversity reception
The Southern California chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel hosted its annual "INside Diversity Reception" at The California Club in Los Angeles. The Oct. 3 event, also sponsored by the California Minority Counsel Program and DLA Piper, featured UCLA Law Professor Jerry Kang, who spoke about implicit bias in the workplace. His presentation was followed by a conversation on the topic with DineEquity Inc. executive director and senior counsel Nedra E. Austin, DLA Piper partner Maria C. Rodriguez. The event concluded with the presentation of the 2013 Profiles IN Diversity Award to Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) General Counsel Duncan W. Crabtree-Ireland for his work as an advocate for gay and lesbian equality in the entertainment industry. — Caitlin Johnson
