Court Announces Plan To Reappoint Judges
LOS ANGELES - The federal court in Los Angeles announced plans Wednesday to reappoint two full-time and two part-time magistrate judges. Magistrate judges hear pretrial motions and some trials. Full-time magistrates are appointed to eight-year terms, and part-time judges are appointed to four-year terms, Allen Abersman, chief deputy clerk of the court, said.
