Softening The Jurors

Gary L. Chambers, a partner with Chambers & Noronha, of Santa Ana, won a $300,000 verdict in a premises liability case, Hall v. The Leonardo Apartments, 305439 (San Francisco Super. Ct., Dec. 14, 2000).

        A landlord permitted a dangerous condition on his property by trying to seal a window with small brackets and wood screws, rather than using a method that would have resulted in a sturdier barrier.
