Former Silicon Valley executive Kris Chellam has agreed to pay $1.75 million to settle a Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit claiming he tipped off convicted hedge fund manager Raj Rajaratnam with insider information that led to a short sale netting $1 million in illicit profits.
