Bank Agrees to $11M Fine for Yield-Burning
SAN FRANCISCO - A San Francisco whistle-blower case that touched off federal review of alleged price-gouging in the municipal bond market has resulted in an agreement by investment bank Lazard Freres & Co. to pay $11 million to settle charges of excessive markups on U.S. Treasury securities.
