Public Defender Fired for Failure Of Confidence

RIVERSIDE - Riverside County's Board of Supervisors fired Public Defender Margaret Spencer Tuesday in the midst of an investigation into how conservatorship cases are handled in the county, saying she failed to "retain the confidence" of the public her office serves.
