'Cattle Call' Just One Problem After Unification

SAN FRANCISCO - Raquel Fox was blocked by a wall of some 80 dark-suited lawyers. It was calendar call, the one hour on Monday mornings when all San Francisco Superior Court cases - everything from landlord-tenant disputes to asbestos claims - are assigned trial judges. It is commonly known as "Hell Monday" or "Cattle Call."
