Modesto Judge Has Deep Roots in Area
MODESTO - Walking around downtown Modesto, Judge John E. Griffin is clearly at home. On one corner, he points out the site of the hospital where he was born. Farther down the road is the site of the former Modesto Bank & Trust Co., which his father helped to found. A few blocks along is the corner where, more than a century ago, his grandfather opened a law office.
