Former judge Richard Leslie Wells, known for being one of the youngest superior court judges on the bench at the time, died in Brentwood on May 1. He was 93.
Wells started his judicial career as a municipal court judge in Los Angeles and was elevated to the superior court by then-Gov. Edmund G. ?Pat? Brown in 1961 at age 40.
