Judicial Council Rejects Proposal for Retention Elections
SAN FRANCISCO - The state Judicial Council voted Wednesday to oppose a proposal to eliminate contested elections for trial judges, saying the idea presents more problems than solutions to runaway spending and unethical conduct during judicial campaigns.
