DA Wants Avant to Pay $200M

SAN JOSE - The Santa Clara County district attorney's office will ask that Fremont software firm Avant Corp. pay at least $200 million in restitution to rival Cadence Design Systems as compensation for stealing source code used to design software used to make computer chips.
