Bay Area Firms Show Solid Gains in 2004

SAN FRANCISCO - It wasn't a return of the dot-com boom, but most Bay Area law firms reported impressive financial results in 2004. Morrison & Foerster, San Francisco's biggest firm with 882 lawyers, remained the region's leader in gross revenues, making $593 million in 2004. Fenwick & West registered the largest percentage growth in revenues at 14 percent, while its per-partner-profits grew 47 percent, the most of any Bay Area firm.
