Letter to the Editor - In the [Scott] Peterson verdict story ("Peterson Verdict Shows Defender's Limitations," Dec. 14), academicians Gerald Uelman and John Diamond correctly observed that the case was different from others in that Peterson had private counsel while most criminal defendants are unable to afford a lawyer.
