Zero Tolerance Furthers Substandard Education

Letter to the Editor - Regarding "Schools Need More Sensible System Than Zero Tolerance," (Nov. 15 Daily Journal): Omitted from the analysis is the fact that "zero tolerance" is part of the larger pattern of widespread discriminatory maltreatment of children in public schools that has persisted, notwithstanding the passage of civil rights laws.
