State Should Issue Concealed-Weapon Permits
Letter to the Editor - With regard to Juliet Leftwich's commentary ("Americans Must Work for State, Local Reform of Firearm Laws," Dec. 2 Daily Journal), I would like to add one suggestion to those put forth by Leftwich to keep Californians safer: Have California join the 38 states that have adopted so-called "shall issue" laws, which require law enforcement officials to issue to citizens concealed-weapons permits unless there is a specific reason to deny the application.
