The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office announced David P. Ruschke, a former chief patent counsel of Ireland medical device company Medtronic Inc., as new chief judge of its patent trial and appeal board.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office announced David P. Ruschke, a former chief patent counsel of Ireland medical device company Medtronic Inc., as new chief judge of its patent trial and appeal board.
Ruschke's appointment, effective May 23, solidifies the job he has been doing on an acting basis for nearly a year.
