Fees to Rise In S.F. Court

SAN FRANCISCO - Starting Monday, San Francisco Superior Court will ask lawyers for more cash when filing papers. The state Legislature approved fee increases statewide in an effort to bridge a gap in the state's court budget. Statewide, the new fees are expected to raise about $135 million across the state, though San Francisco court administrators said they could not estimate how much the new fees would raise locally.
