Recall Hearing
LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles federal judge has set an Aug. 18 hearing on the ACLU of Southern California's request for a temporary restraining order halting the recall of Gov. Gray Davis, lawyers said Tuesday.
In a brief to U.S. District Judge Stephen V. Wilson, the ACLU says the Oct. 7 election must be delayed until after Mar. 1, when outmoded punch-card ballots can be replaced....
