7th Circuit Splits with 9th on Application of 'Betamax' Case

Genga - With a 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision at the end of June, entertainment companies maintained their perfect Court of Appeals record in Internet piracy cases. In re Aimster Copyright Litigation , 2003 U.S.App.LEXIS 13229 (7th Cir. June 30, 2003). The court affirmed a broad preliminary injunction that had the effect of shutting down a Napsterlike file-sharing service.
