In October 2013, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a case argued by Grunfeld on behalf of prisoners with disabilities.


These prisoners had been required to be housed in county jails as a result of the state's realignment legislation that diverted state prisoners to county jails. Armstrong v. Brown, 732 F.3d 935 (9th Cir. 2013).
