Juries seem to be partial to workers
While jurors once may have been willing to give recession-bitten companies the benefit of the doubt, experts say many have become more likely to question employers' motives.

For the first two years following the economic collapse in the fall of 2008, plaintiffs'-side jury consultant Karen Jo Koonan often dreaded voir dire in employment cases.
"People would say they didn't believe in lawsuits or damages," Koonan said. "If someone got fired, it was their own fault. If someone got injured, it was because they weren't careful enough."
