Court expands attorney fee statute
The state Supreme Court on Monday made it easier for litigants to win attorney fees when they fight court battles in the public interest.

The state Supreme Court on Monday made it easier for litigants to win attorney fees when they fight court battles in the public interest.
The court backed off slightly from its 2008 ruling that shielded losing parties from paying fees as long as they were acting in good faith to pursue their private rights.
That protection didn't apply to a court reporting service that charged an indigent...
